Free Trials And Unpaid Accounts

Are you brand new to Boom? We may provide you with a one-time free trial of a paid subscription (also called a membership). The length of the premium trial will depend on the offer you are being presented. The trial will have a selection of features you can explore that are included in our premium products.

If your account is expired, to get 14 day Fast Pins, enhanced features for Presentation mode, Boom Live, more decks, more classrooms, or more students, you will need to purchase either an annual or monthly Premium subscription. Subscriptions pay for your access to our premium tools that turn Boom Cards into more than just an activity. With a subscription, Boom Cards allow you to differentiate learning, satisfy IEP goal tracking, and more.

All expired accounts, including expired trials, are provided only the features in our free tier, known as Starter. As of December 1, 2025, Starter accounts include the following features:

  • FastPlay pins good for 5 days. FastPlay does not record student progress. It does provide instant feedback and self-grading, if the deck is self-grading. All FastPlays are subject to limits on the monthly plays and number of pins that can be generated that comport with the license sold. A Starter license is not intended for commercial use.
  • Watermarked Prep mode (not for use with students). 

Any feature not listed above is subject to removal or limitation, in our sole discretion, at any time. New limits apply to you when introduced, even if they are more restrictive than the limits in place when you purchased your Boom Cards. 

If you purchased Boom Cards at any place other than boomlearning.com, we do not have your payment information. We will not automatically charge you to renew if you arrive from off-site. We cannot refund purchases you made on other sites. We can require that you provide proof of purchase, and we can disclose your name, identifying information, redemption date, and proof of purchase to the other site and/or Publisher if they challenge the redemption. 


TO RELOAD BOOM CARDS PURCHASED at any place other than boomlearning.com, contact our Help Desk. Your Publisher is charged a fee each time a deck is loaded to an account. Our Help Desk can reload for you and ensure your Publisher is not penalized for the reload.
