Getting ready for tax season? This guide shows you how to gather the three key numbers you need from Boom Learning: Boom Sales income, External Sales fees, and Payments to Boom Learning. You'll learn where to find each value, how to filter and export the data, and how to organize it for your accountant.

To assemble your Boom Learning records for tax season you need three (3) numbers:
1. Boom Sales (income)
2. External Sales Fees (expenses)
3. Payments to Boom Learning (expenses)
Boom Sales
Use your Sales dashboard to see your payments and earnings.
PAYMENTS are sorted by date of payment and subtotaled by year.
These can be exported into a spreadsheet using the Export CSV button. Below is sample data. This is most useful for cash accounting to pass on to your accountant as your Boom Learning income number.
Sellers with External Sales Fees
If you do have external sales, use the CREDITS field to obtain your values. These can be exported into a spreadsheet using the Export CSV button
In your spreadsheet, filter on the memo field for two items. First. filter on "external sales" in the Memo field and report the results to your accountant as an expense line item. Then, filter on Boom sales and report the results to your accountant as your income line item. This will be different than your PAYMENTS summary. Ignore Admin Credits and Payments (these are used to record payments we receive from you or that we issue to you).
Payments to Boom Learning
Go to the Membership tab of Settings. There you can find your Payment Transactions to us (expenses). These can be copied and pasted to a spreadsheet.
