Standards-based Tagging

Align Your Decks With State Standards To Help Educators Easily Identify Curricula That Meet Specific Learning Objectives. Just Tag Your Boom Card Decks With The Appropriate Standards In Deck Details. 

You can now tag and search for decks with Common Core State Standards or 'CCSS' and Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills or 'TEKS'

Tagging Decks

We are working to add additional state-specific standards as well as a Crosswalk. 

The crosswalk will enable you to view and tag equivalent standards from both CCSS and state-specific standards, currently CCSS and TEKS, with additional state-specific standards coming. 

For example, if you tag a deck with an ELA CCSS, Boom will automatically find and search for the equivalent standard in TEKS if available, and add it to your Boom Deck.

With the Croswalk coming soon, please tag your decks with the Educational Standards you are most familiar with. Your customers from all states will see their appropriate standards. ​

How to tag your decks

You can add tags to your decks in Deck Details under the Standards tab, shown below.

From the Standards tab, you will see a drop-down menu where you can select the Framework of your choice. 

Once a framework is selected, you will have the ability to expand the Anchor standards to select specific standards and select up to 5 standards.  

If you have an idea of what standard you want to tag your deck with, you can filter the selection by typing in the filter bar. Below, the standards are filtered for CCSS Literature.

 Make sure when filtering that you are in the correct framework, i.e., if you are searching for Literature, be sure you are in the Common Core State Standards for ELA. If you try searching in the incorrect framework, the filter will not populate.

When a Standard is selected, you can see it listed at the bottom of the modal.

You can expand all Standards before or after you 'select' them to read it's details, as well as select/unselect the standard by checking/unchecking the box. Shown below.

Searching the store using Standards

Educators can use the left navigation bar drop-down in Store to pick an Educational Standard framework and search for CCSS or TEKS aligned Boom Card activities.
